STEAVENSON
FALLS
Steavenson Falls have been a 'must see' destination for Marysville vistors for many decades. The spectacular falls are flood-lit at night and are some of the highest in Victoria.
Travel about 3km from Dalrymples, up Falls Road to the car-park, and then take a stroll through the forest along a wide, well maintained path to the viewing locations at the bottom of the falls. This is an easy walk, but the more energetic may enjoy the climb to the top of the falls. This path is not so well maintained and has some steep sections with steps.
The falls can also be reached via a beautiful Treefern Gully track. Across the road from Dalrymples is Gallipoli Park. Cross the river using one of the several foot-bridges and head upstream for about 4kms. As you approach the falls, you will pass a small building which houses a turbine. This is powered by the river itself, and provides all the electricity for the lighting at night.
